Who we are
At the start of 2024, former restaurateur and current Canberra Times food reviewer, Chris Hansen, decided to write his own food guide/recipe book. The book was completed after 5 months of interviewing, writing, editing and photography and released in October 2024.
Sales have well exceeded projections and he is very confident that you can do the same in your own city, wherever it may be.
The book also documents the history of Canberra restaurants and personalities, dating back to the 1920s.
It includes the Chefs Eat Canberra Food Photography Prize - $6000 worth of dinner vouchers up for grabs from the restaurants featured in the book. This competition runs until mid 2025 and entries can be viewed on Instagram with the hashtag #chefseatcanberrapicprize
The book is available for sale in the restaurants, as well as at a number of local retailers. It can also be ordered through the website and can be delivered anywhere in Australia.
